June has been the month for hatching, both guinea fowl and chickens. Three guinea broods hatched naturally, but two others needed some help from the incubator. Our neighbor, Ed, says that keeping that incubator going will make us “chicken poor!”

All chicks will soon be back with their brood hens for survival training. They learn how to forage effectively and safely, and how to roost at night to avoid predators. That’s what makes these field-raised chicks have the best possible chance for survival in new surroundings. Interested in some chicks? Check out what’s available under the “Animals For Sale” category.
